About a Boy

While i am a gigantic U2 fan, i listen to their actual albums very seldomly. I have so much live material, and they thrive so much live, that i would almost always listen to a live version of a song over a studio version. So the albums just kind of sit there having to settle for being necessary to complete my massive U2 collection.

As i went for a drive yesterday i took my copy of "Boy" with me. This was the first time i have listened to this album this century. I can't believe how good of an album it is! I was blown away. I had long forgotten the magic of An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart. I was surprised at how fresh Out of Control and The Electric Co sounded. I was really impressed.

I might have to start going through the other neglected studio discs. Shockingly, The Unforgettable Fire is high on that list... Might have to be next.

Is that the same Nicole that i have met? She has some pretty good taste in friends. Im driving to Detroit to see him play in September. I would go see him play in Toronto, but the night he plays Toronto im already seeing U2 in Toronto.

There are worse problems to have in life. You should check him out Kelli, he's an incredible songwriter.

Detroit is half the drive, and i'd be happy to drive to NYC for a variety of reasons, including a visit with an old pal.

I just need the time and money to do so...
